The RS1221+ is a shallow-depth 2U NAS built for space-constrained racks. It runs Synology DSM with Btrfs snapshots, Active Backup, Synology Drive and iSCSI targets, and supports Synology High Availability when paired with an identical unit. It suits branch file services, backup repositories, surveillance recording and small virtualisation clusters.
