Software Development & Technical Support
Legacy Modernisation
Incremental migration of ageing applications to supported stacks without interrupting live operations.
Replacing a live system in one cut-over is rarely acceptable. We assess the codebase, database, integrations and operational dependencies, then choose a strangler or facade strategy that lets old and new run in parallel.
The work typically starts with extracting stable interfaces and moving low-risk modules, with automated regression tests and data reconciliation at each step. Database refactoring is handled through versioned migrations and reversible scripts; feature flags control exposure to users.
Cut-over is rehearsed with rollback criteria, and knowledge transfer runs alongside delivery so the client team can support the modernised stack after handover.
What the engagement covers
- Codebase and risk assessment
- Migration architecture
- Parallel-run cut-over plan
- Knowledge transfer
How engagements start
Most projects begin with a scoping call and a written technical approach covering assumptions, deliverables, dependencies and acceptance criteria. Fixed-price and retainer models are both available.
